dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo se basa en una oportunidad estratégica identificada por la Cooperativa Financiera COTRAFA, para ofrecer el servicio de pago de remesas recibidas desde Estados Unidos en el canal de oficinas de la entidad, partiendo del hecho de que los receptores de estos pagos son en su gran mayoría de estratos bajos, que justamente corresponden al segmento atendido por la Cooperativa. Con el fin de entregar a la alta dirección de la Cooperativa una herramienta para tomar la decisión de implementar o no este servicio, se realiza un estudio de factibilidad, teniendo en cuenta las metodologías definidas por Baca (2013) y ONUDI et al. (1994), a través de las cuales se evalúan las condiciones sectoriales, de mercado, financieras, técnicas, organizacionales y legales, para que la Cooperativa pueda ofrecer este servicio de una manera viable y conveniente para la entidad, teniendo presente los riesgos inherentes asociados a la prestación del mismo. El tipo de investigación es cuantitativa con alcance descriptivo, y la información necesaria para el estudio se obtuvo por medio de entrevistas, la base de datos de la Cooperativa y la bibliografía existente sobre el tema, entre otras fuentes primarias y secundarias.
dc.descriptionThis work is based on a strategic opportunity identified by COTRAFA Cooperativa Financiera (Financial Cooperative), to offer the remittance payment service received from the United States in the entity's office channel, based on the fact that the recipients of these payments are, in their majority, of low strata, which corresponds to the segment assisted by the Cooperative. In order to give the Cooperative senior management a tool to decide whether or not to implement this service, a feasibility study is carried out, taking into account the methodologies defined by Baca (2013) and ONUDI et al. (1994), with the help of which the sectoral, market, financial, technical, organizational and legal conditions are evaluated, so that the Cooperative can offer this service in a viable and convenient way for the entity, considering the associated inherent risks to the provision thereof. The type of research is quantitative with a descriptive scope, and the information necessary for the study was obtained through interviews, the Cooperative's database and the existing bibliography on the subject, among other primary and secondary sources.
