Abstract
Description
Gulupa, or purple passion fruit as it is known in other countries, is an exotic fruit that according to the National Association of Foreign Trade generated good increases in the Colombian export market between 2017 and 2018. As a result, gulupa became a business idea for four farmers from Pasca, Cundinamarca who were looking forward to the profits of exporting a fruit that was growing. However, they were met with setbacks that would make the process more complex than it seemed. This is a report that tells the story of four gulupa farmers who faced water shortages, four diseases and poor roads that made the business difficult. These stories show how the production of fruit for export has an impact on the economic, social and environmental factors of the countryside; and they reflect once again that the lack of support and guarantees for fruit producers is a situation that is repeated throughout the country.
